Mama's Big Boy!!!

Mama (and Daddy's) big boy is just getting bigger by the day.....he rolled over on Monday afternoon for Mama. Unfortunately Daddy and Sissy weren't there to see it. When Daddy got home from work that night, he tried to lay him on the floor and get him to do it again, but Mr. Cash-mo didn't want to cooperate.....maybe tomorrow.

Big Weekend

The Bickett's (sadly minus Sierra - she was with her mama), made their first weekend trip to Georgetown, and boy were we busy. It all started with Brad getting a vasectomy on Friday morning (no more babies for us). (The Cashman got to stay with MawMaw, and was a very good boy). We then left out for Georgetown - on Friday night we had a reception for my brother Mike and his new wife Erma who were married in Gatlinburg a couple of weeks ago....needless to say, Brad sat in the corner all evening higher than a kite. On Saturday we had a dinner for my Aunt Mary who is visiting from California, and then on Sunday, Cash made his first trip to church where he behaved very well - he slept the whole time. After church we went back to Mamaw Lynn's for an early Thanksgiving with all of my brother's and sister's. Talk about tired - I needed a weekend trip to recover from my weekend trip.

One Month Old!!!

Can you believe the Cashman is already one month old?!?!?! I can't believe he's getting so big!! It's true what they say about time passing too fast - it seems like time has flown by since we heard about all the new arrivals in the Caldwell family. Now there all here, and growing by the day!!! Motherhood has been such a blessing - one I didn't know I was going to enjoy so much. Everyone tells you how great it is, but it's something you can't truly understand until you hold that little one in your arms. That is what true love is all about.

I actually had my first experience with the "fussies" this weekend. The little man had some issues with gas and constipation. I didn't think he was ever going to sleep all weekend (we did get a little break at Uncle Kirby's surprise party on Saturday night - thankfully he slept the whole time). He was so upset with his belly hurting - it hurt my heart to see him in pain. My patience held up a lot better than I thought it would - I actually took it better than Daddy did....I think he was ready to pull his hair out by Sunday evening. All I can say is thank God for Mylicon drops and Karo syrup!!!! Those things work wonders!!! I can gratefully say that Sunday night, mommy got over 8 hours of sleep, with Cash only waking once!!! Besides his belly feeling better, I think part of it was the fact that he was absolutely exhausted. Whatever the reason - I'll take what I can get in the sleep department!! I feel like I have successfully passed my first mommy test :) :) :)

Abby vs Woo

All went well with Cash's first babysitting experience - he actually slept the whole time we were gone. There was still some excitement for Abby however. Ms. Abby had a little run in with my cat, Kitty Whooter. Woo didn't like the fact that Abby was holding her baby - every time she would see Abby with the baby, she would growl and hiss. Abby had to go head to head with the cat. First she tried to lure her into a bedroom with some kitty treats, but Woo wasn't falling for it, so she figured she would use the one thing the cat thought she was protecting......Mr. Cash. She took him into the bedroom, the cat followed, and she was then able to lock her up. I guess I should have told Abby that Woo doesn't have any claws - she could have just picked her up and threw her in the room.....oh well, she'll know next time :) :) :)

Cash's Weekend Plans

This weekend is going to be full of first for our big boy...and mama!!! Tonight if all goes well, Cash's Godmother, Abby is going to be babysitting him, so that mama and daddy can go out to eat. It's going to be his first time away from mama for more than 45 minutes. I have a funny feeling he's going to have an easier time dealing with the absence than I am. Cash is also going to be sleeping in his bed for the first time since coming home. Up until now, he's been sleeping in the living room with mama, so that we don't disturb daddy while he's sleeping, but daddy thinks it time to put him in his own bed. This will probably be hard on mama too...I'll let you all know how things go after a couple of days....we'll see how he does in his bed, and how mama deals with it as well!!

Cash's First Couple of Weeks

As you all know Bradley Cash Bickett made his big debut last month on October 17, 2008 at 6:14 p.m. He came into the world weighing 8 lbs and 5.5 oz and was 20.5" long. At his first doctor's visit at 4 day's old he had dropped down to 7 lbs and 14 oz, which was quite normal, and was suffering from a bit of jaundice (that's were his good color was coming from - sorry buddy, you're going to be just as pasty as mama and daddy). Mama's been breastfeeding, but Cash is such a porker, I've had a little trouble keeping up. We have to occasionally supplement with formula just to satisfy him. That enormous appetite was evident at his 2 week check up, where he had grown quite a bit. His weight was up to 8 lbs 11 oz, and he had gotten half an inch longer! That kinda makes mommy sad - he's getting so big so fast!!! I hope to keep this site updated as much as possible, so come by and check it out often :) :) We love you everybody!!!
